Comprehensive care in our office begins with our complete dental examination and evaluation of your oral health. Many of our patients find this examination to be more comprehensive than any other they have received in the past.
At this time, we’ll also want to hear about any concerns you may have, past dental experiences, your expectations of our staff, and your goals for treatment. We do this so that working together, we can achieve the results you expect from your experience in our practice.
During your comprehensive examination, in order to gather data about your oral health, we will:
- Evaluate your chewing muscles and jaw joints
- Examine your gums and the other soft parts of your mouth
- Assess the health of each tooth and any existing tooth restorations or replacements , including any fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures or implants
- Observe how your teeth line up against one another and how they function
During this examination, we’ll want to hear your concerns about how your teeth look and what you’d like to see improved. We’ll suggest x-rays we think we need to address our findings, which may include digital photographs of your face and teeth; we also may recommend diagnostic impressions of your teeth.
Throughout your examination, we will address all your questions and concerns, as they arise, so you always feel comfortable and understood. Following the examination, we will review all of our findings, and design a treatment plan that addresses your dental health issues and any goals and objectives you have for your treatment.
You will be invited to discuss these findings and treatment plan at a later scheduled appointment, when we can also schedule a dental cleaning to begin your journey on the road to restored dental health and a great smile!
